This study classified and examined Persian prefixed and compound verbs based on their frequency of use across eight thematic domains: social, economic, health, legal, political, scientific, cultural, and sports, using the Hamshahri, Persika, Bijankhan, and Updated Persian Text Corpus. The study was conducted by first extracting prefixed and compound verbs from the Syntactic Valency Lexicon of Persian Verbs (Rasouli and others, 2012). Subsequently, an eight-category classification of prefixed and compound verbs was developed by the researchers in consultation with specialists in linguistics, natural language processing, and information and knowledge science. This classification includes the political, economic, social, sports, scientific, cultural, health, and legal categories. Before verb extraction, the topic labels assigned to the corpora were consolidated into these eight categories. Next, verbs were extracted from the corpora. All verbs were conjugated using verb conjugation software, and their conjugated forms were extracted from the corpora. The frequency of each verb was calculated in each thematic domain. Finally, a thematic list of Persian prefixed and compound verbs was prepared according to the frequency of their use in each domain. The findings showed that the social, political, and scientific domains did not include domain-specific verbs among the most frequent verbs, whereas the economic, health, legal, cultural, and sports domains contained a greater number of domain-specific verbs. Furthermore, the social, scientific, and political domains showed relatively greater breadth and diversity in the use of Persian prefixed and compound verbs than the other thematic domains.
